Tony and Manny

Postby maberi on Sat Feb 27, 2010 10:54 pm

Both dogs are located at the Batavia Animal Shelter in Western, NY. Tony was a turn in and Manny was picked up as a stray.

I'm working with both to put some basic obedience on them and socialize them as best as possible.

Tony is a super sweet dog who is very much still a puppy. He has that goofy puppy personality and is very affectionate. He LOVES playing ball and is very attached to anyone who shows him the least bit of attention.

Manny is VERY affectionate and VERY strong. He learns extremely fast and knows sit, down, stay, leave it and we are working on some targeting exercises. Manny does REALLY well with females. His body language and the way he reduces his play based on the other dog is some of the best I've seen in a long time. He is a huge ham and so gentle which is amazing to see because he is a tank. This guy would do WONDERFUL with another female dog if anyone is looking.

--Bump--

Manny is now in foster care at my house. The shelter was getting low on space and he had been at the shelter too long.

I've started him in some basic obedience and am planning to put a CGC and TDI on him within the next few months (assuming he is still with me). He does wonderful with other dogs and is one of the most laid back gentle dogs I've ever been around. He would make a wonderful therapy dog for anyone who is interested in showcasing the versatility of the breed. He is a beautiful dog in person and looks very intimidating to most people but because of his gentle disposition he quickly wins people over.

A couple of updated pics of Manny at a friend's house this weekend

Still no interest in the lug from anyone yet but not a big deal because I really enjoy him being around. He is definitely one of the best dogs I've had around in a long time.

Tony Baloney is still at the shelter. He has a really great volunteer working with him. I took my camera to the shelter yesterday to get some updated pics, but it started storming so I could only get a few in the shelter. Tony is EXTREMELY affectionate, does well with females and has done great with everyone (including kids) on his trips to PetSmart. The pictures of this guy don't really do him justice. He is a brick house in person and a nice size at 55 lbs

i can't believe neither of those lookers has found a home yet.

Looks like Manny is quite the dogger! glad to hear is able to be staying at your place, i'm sure he'll be a great dog when he finds a forever home!

good luck getting these two some great homes!!
